Bio:
Athena Victoria Kelly makes art commenting on the body and technology. She has made many organic drawings and sculptures, which question beauty standards and gender characteristics by depicting gorgeous and disturbing abstract forms of the body.
Her works on technology act as a double edged sword, showing indescribable advancements in what technology can do, while cautioning that it may destroy us all if it is used foolishly or greedily.
When technology and the body come together, the theme of transhumanism is present. Athena believes the technology of the near future may help us all break our biological limitations to become far greater beings. Advancements in physical capabilities, intelligence, appearances, and wisdom may all be possible in a utopian future.

I make to encompass ideas without words. Seeking to find that intangible feeling that exceeds the sum of: transhumanist reflections on identity, dark tragic romance, and the weight of a cold scientific universe.
My art highlights the injustice being faced in relation to gender and identity. As well as aim to show the perspective of isolation from one's own body and how that leads to a disconnect from the world. A world which categorizes us all based on the flesh we were born with.
I look at what solutions may fix these issues. Highlighting the transhumanist desire to leave our flesh behind for cybernetic bodies of our own design. Investigating how we may cope with the lack of bodily control by rooting our identities solely in the mind. Ultimately, Building a greater societies without any biological limitations.
